We are members from all wings of the Labour party who want an inclusive party that allows genuine debate.

Our party should allow the free, honest and comradely expression of differing views in our movement rather than using cynical tactics to shut down debate. And our party should include young people, women and minorities all the time rather than just when they suit factional agendas.

This spirit has not been upheld in the attempt by a small faction to drive Rhea Wolfson off the National Executive Committee ballot by spreading smears about her in order to deny her the nomination of her home party. Rhea is an inspiring activist with a formidable record. She’s a trade unionist and a GMB branch secretary, Scottish Young Labour’s women’s officer, the former president of her university’s Jewish Society, and a veteran campaigner. She has been nominated by a large number of Constituency Labour Parties comprising thousands of members from across the political spectrum.

She’s a great candidate – and most importantly, our membership deserve a say.
